sewing cards

This is in response to Bryan Draper's question about sewing cards. Peter
Verheyen mentioned the large ones done by Betsy Palmer Eldridge at a GBW
Standards seminar. My first encounter with them was at the 1987 Paper and
Book intensive in Minnesota. The participants in Betsy's class sewed with
linen thread onto large index cards. Sometimes the patterns were so
complicated that the holes had to be numbered in order to figure the pattern
out later. It is a great reference and offers alternatives to standard sewing
patterns that have helped me solve some sewing problems.
