Bone Folders

In response to an earlier question about the type and source of genuine bone
folders I have checked with two major importers (one in the U.S. one in the
U.K.). Both have confirmed that their bone folders are made of cow/cattle
bone and both indicate that they are from Japan. While there may be "special"
sources for "exotic" types of bone folders such as the deer or elk bone from
Jim Croft, the major source for commercially mass-produced genuine bone
folders is cow bone. Hope this sheds some light or confirms previous
suspicions.
