Artists'/Eccentric Zines Exhibit

SOME ZINES 2, a multimedia exhibition of underground
and alternative magazines and newsletters ("zines")
by artists and eccentric format publications by artists
and non-artists will be on display 20 November 1995-
15 January 1996 at the Boise State University Student
Union Gallery.
Curated by English Professor Tom Trusky, SOME ZINES 2
is a continuation and refinement of SOME ZINES, the
first academic exhibition of zines in America.  SOME
ZINES appeared at the BSU Student Union Gallery in 1992
and DiverseWorks in Houston, Texas, in 1993.  The first
exhibition and its catalog created local controversy
but received favorable reviews from National Public Radio,
USA Today, American Journalism Review, Factsheet Five,
and numerous zine publications.
Artists and publishers of eccentric format magazines
and newsletters may submit publications for exhibition
consideration through 1 June 1995.  (Enclose SASE for
return.)  Publishers of zines selected for the exhibit
will receive a free copy of the four-color exhibition
catalog which profiles selected publications and their
