CENTER FOR BOOK ARTS  
ANNOUNCES TWO SPECIAL WORKSHOPS  
WITH MASTER BOOKBINDER 
TERENCE BUCKLEY 

TRANSPARENT VELLUM WITH UNDER-VELLUM DECORATION 
The workshop will introduce participants to the versatility and beauty of
transparent vellum decoration. A book will be bound in vellum, then covered
again in transparent vellum allowing a cover painting or decoration to show
through. Students supply their own vellum. Binding experience required. 
April 1 & 2; 10 am to 4 pm 
$210/ CBA members $180 

ANTIQUE VELLUM RESTORATION 
This course will focus on the unique problems of restoring vellum bindings.
Participants will learn vellum repair, as well as the proper cleaning and
flattening of antique vellum. Participants should bring new vellum and an
antique vellum binding needing repair. Prerequisite: a minimum of
Bookbinding II (previous experience in vellum is recommended). 
April 8 & 9; 10 am to 4 pm 
$210/CBA members $180 

Terence Buckley is the senior lecturer for bookbinding at the London
College of Printing.  He trained at W.T. Morrell's and apprenticed for six
years at Central School of Arts & Crafts. 

Mr. Buckley will also be speaking in the  
Center for Book Arts' Lecture Series 
on Thursday, April 6th at 7 pm
