The New York Chapter of the Guild of Book Workers is hosting an OPEN HOUSE
at TALAS on Thursday, April 6 from 5:30-7:30pm. TALAS, the most complete
supplier of bookbinding materials and equipment in New York City, was bought
by Jacob and Marjorie Salik last March, and moved to a new and more
accessible location last August. This is a great opportunity to meet the
Saliks, see some of the new products they are offering, tour the new store
and showroom, and enjoy refreshments and good conversation with other book
binders, conservators, and artists. Everyone is welcome!
TALAS is located at 568 Broadway, between Houston and Prince St., Suite 107.
The same evening at 7pm and only a block away at the Center for Book Arts
(626 Broadway, 5th fl.), Terence Buckley, Senior Lecturer at the London
College of Printing, will lecture on trends in the field of book restoration.
