Making Books in the Classroom

MAKING BOOKS ACROSS THE CURRICULUM (ISBN 0-590-49647-6) by Natalie Walsh is
available from: Scholastic Books, PO Box 7502, Jefferson City, MO 65102 (800)
325-6149. They also publish another great classroom bookmaking text,
MULTICULTURAL BOOKS TO MAKE AND SHARE (ISBN 0-590-48921-6) by Susan
Kapuscinski Gaylord. You can also order it directly from her (and
autographed on request) at: Box 852, Newburyport, MA 01950 (508) 462-3255.

Any discussion of making books in the classroom would have to include these
informative and imaginative books by Paul Johnson: LITERACY THROUGH THE BOOK
ARTS (ISBN 0-435-08766-5) and A BOOK OF ONE'S OWN (ISBN 0-435-08708-8). They
are available from: Hinemann, 361 Hanover Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801-3912
(603) 431-7894.

I have about 20 books, most published in the last few years, about teaching
books in the classroom. They cover a wide range of interest including a new
addition about making science and math books in the classroom! If interested
people will contact me directly, I'll try and put together a list. Maybe
next month I can do the pop-up how-to books, and then the paper model
books....
