On Friday, October 27 at 7 pm the Center for Book Arts will present a
lecture by Richard Minsky. This will be the first time Richard is
presenting a talk at the Center about his own work since he founded this
organization over 20 years ago.
Pioneer artist, writer, printer, publisher and educator Richard Minsky
changed the way people look at and make books as works of art. His
bookbindings revolutionized the field in the early 1970's. This slide talk
will show how his radical ideas evolved from a conservative background in
letterpress printing and traditional bookbinding.
On Saturday morning, October 28, Richard will conduct a 3-hour workshop in
Hot Stamping on the 3-ton Kensol. Each participant will be placed on the
list of those authorized to use it.
10 am to 1 pm
$40/CBA members $30
Please call for more information.
The Center is located in New York City at 626 Broadway (between Houston and
Bleecker) on the 5th floor.
