Re: Term for 'panel' binding



I use it often, particularly a variation swiped from a 19th C. lacquer
binding on a book of handcolored albumen prints of scenes in Japan. Philip
Smith illustrates his version beautifully in his book. Tongue in groove and
split board come to mind.
