Correction:  A leaf of American letter-size paper is *one-sixteenth* of
a sheet of one of the standard sizes of American-manufactured paper, 34"
x 44".

Thanks to Charles Alexander for pointing out to me the difference
between one-quarter and one-sixteenth.
