Fables of DaVinci

The Potomac Chapter of the GBW is sponsoring the publication of "The
Fables of DaVinci." The text is the original drawn from the note books
of DaVinci, compiled by Jean Paul Richter in 1883 for Queen Victoria.
The selections includes fables, jests and notes on the lives and habits
of animals.

It's charming.

In Both Italian and English, the text is being printed, By Cita
Wheeler-Sullivan, in 18 point Goudy Thirty.
This type was designed by Frederic Goudy in 1942 as a recreation
of a 15th Century rounded Gothic script. The 60 point decorative initial
letters are molded after 15th Century letters used in Dutch legal documents.

Other features:
        Approximately 11" x 7 1/2" portrait
21 stories, each in Italian and English
Handmade wove paper made by Cranberry Mills
        8 folios included for endleaves
        50 copies being printed
Costs $75 plus $7.50 for shipping and handling

After some setbacks the project is back on track for delivery in late
spring. If anyone is interested in obtaining a copy; call Linda
Blazer at the Folger Shakespeare Library (202) 675-0332
