Artists' Book Prize

----------------------------Original message----------------------------
The Hemingway Western Studies Series at Boise State University is
pleased to announce the fourth annual Rocky Mountain Artists' Book
Competition.

The Hemingway Series publishes multiple edition works relating to
public issues (such as gender, race, environment) of special concern
to Rocky Mountain readers. Artists may address topics (such as
clear cutting or gun control) which not only relate to but also
transcend regional concerns.

Proposals specifying offset, copier or silkscreen printing on
commercial papers will be favored. Works may consist of text and/or
visual content. Works may have been previously published as uniques
or limited editions. Detailed proposals submitted with a copy of
the previously work or detailed proposals submitted with a mock or
dummy copy will be favored over generic proposals with slides.

Authors and artists whose works are selected for publication receive
$500 and standard sales royalties.

Entries should be sent SASE October-November to Tom Trusky, Editor,
Hemingway Western Studies Center, Boise State University, Boise, ID
83725.

A regional jury selects semi-finalists by January; national judges
select winner by March 1997.
