Book Arts Workshop for Teachers

Ed Hutchins will be giving a workshop for teachers called "Creating
Innovative Books" as part of the annual Teachers Workshop Day at
SUNY-Purchase on Wednesday, April 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. "Books
come in many shapes and sizes. They can be made out of one piece of paper or
a combined assortment of materials. They can pop-up, unfold, and expand in
unexpected ways. They can be simple or complex. Come and learn how to
showcase your students' creative talents in a variety of innovative book
structures. You will take back to your classroom at least a dozen models and
we will discuss how they can be incorporated into every curriculum including
art, English, math, science, and social studies." The cost is $25 for
teachers in districts that are part of the "Regional Partnership of Schools
and Colleges at Purchase College, SUNY". For non-members, the cost $35 and
it includes lunch and an afternoon technology forum. For more information or
registration forms, please call Susan Lippmann at (914) 251-6870 (or 6871).
