It is better to use a very fine brass screen. McMaster Carr carries brass
screening. First a heavier gauge screen is stretched and tacked (1/8"
squares, roughly) and then the fine screen is laid over the heavy. Both
must be pulled very taut, like one would stretch a canvas: from the
center out to the corners. People do use fiberglass window screen, but
some pulp seems to slide off of it, whereas the brass does a better job
of holding it.
