Re: Paper 4 Stabbound Journals

I buy 8.5"x11" paper with the grain running short from a local printing
company. They have large sheets which they cut down. When I told them
what I wanted it for (I teach a workshop for the University on basic
bookbinding once or twice a year) they were agreeable, especially when
I told them I would give them free advertising in my class, a place
where the students could go to buy cut sheets of paper. I buy a ream or
two at a time (500 sheets=1 ream). The owner also seemed interested that
I was a hand-binder and that I could do artistic bindings. He hasn't
sent any work my way, but it never hurts to get your name out in the
community!

By all means leave the road when you wish. That is precisely the use
of a road: to reach individually chosen points of departure. By all
means break the rules, and break them beautifully, deliberately and
well. That is one of the ends for which they exist.
