Printing on demand

Today's San Francisco Chronicle Date Book section has an article, datelined
Chicago, about Lightning Print, Inc., a service for publishers, booksellers
and readers that can reprint books without the need for typesetting,
printing plates, signatures or much make-ready time. The technique was
disclosed for the first time at BookExpo America in Chicago where 40,000
publishers, booksellers, agents, authors and distributors have just closed
a three-day meeting.

No doubt other newspapers have carried the story that will certainly be of
interest to listmembers, in view of the recent discussion on the subject,
but if you haven't seen it, you can read it at on the web at www.sfgate.com
 DATEBOOK section.
