Re: Book Arts workshops

Book artist Robbin Ami Silverberg of Dobbin Mill/Dobb Books will be
teaching a workshop this summer at Seastone Papers' studio in
Massachusetts.

Pulp Painting & the Artistís Book

          Four days: Monday-Thursday

          August 2-5 10:00-4:00

For those of you who fell in love with hand papermaking or plan to fall
in love, this is the workshop. You will explore the book artistís visual
language specifically through the medium of paper, learning several
techniques in papermaking and focusing on surface manipulation to make
both decorative papers and 2D art. Working mainly with colored pulp
painting, along with collage, veil pulps, and stenciling, a wondrous
range of image-making is possible. You will combine your image making
skills with non-traditional binding methods to create books. Attention
will be in planning and developing a finished artistís
book. Cost: $325 plus $40 materials fee

Instructor: Robbin Ami Siverberg director of Dobbin Mill/Dobbin Books in
NYC, is a papermaker and book artist whose time is divided between solo
bookworks, large paper installations, and artist book collaborations in
the United States, South Africa, and Europe.
