The Lone Star Chapter of the Guild of Book Workers is pleased to
announce the opening of its second members' exhibition: "Heaven on
Earth." The show opens this Saturday and runs through 27 August at:

The show will then travel to:
Houston, TX: Museum of Printing History; 11 September - 11 October
Austin, TX: Perry-Castaņeda Library at UT; 22 October - 19 December

Twenty-five members LSC members from the US, France, and the Czech
Republic have submitted a binding on the text, "Heaven on Earth:
Explorations into the Wilderness set forth by John Muir," a collection
of essays exploring the majestic wildernesses of North America.

*** This 140 page, 8 1/4" x 6" text is illustrated with wood engravings
by Charles D. Jones (LSC) of Stephen F. Austin State University Art
Faculty and printed letterpress from polymer plates on Biblio paper by
Randolph Bertin (LSC president). Bound under the supervision of
Priscilla Spitler (LSC) in a rounded, quarter-leather case binding of
tan Harmatan goatskin with gold stamping on the spine and boards covered
in a warm red Japanese cloth with endpapers of Bugra paper. Each book is
housed in a slipcase covered in olive Japanese cloth. Only 20 of the 26
copies are offered for sale at $175 each including shipping.

*** A catalog with descriptions and full-color illustrations of each of
the 25 bindings has also been produced for the show; cost is $10 +
shipping.

Proceeds from the sale of these two publications will go to defray the
costs associated with the mounting of this exhibit. Only a few copies of
