Re: Wax on wooden tablets



Catharine,

I would love to know what kind of wax was used.  I looked at the Book
article in Odyssey and it didn't say.  I would imagine that it would have to
be somewhat hardened to stay unmelted in Egypt.

Looked at the hinge in the pic of the wax tablet in the magazine
also--wonder how those rolls of wood kept the booklet together.  I thought
perhaps I might use a mortice (sp)and tenon arrangement--but would rather
use the wooden scrolls or whatever they were.
