Re: The Book Arts in Russia



Thanks for filling us in about this, Ed! Missed the Times this
Sunday.  This is exciting for Russia!

I've spent time in  a close-by post-Communist country (Poland)
and the shabby imitation of capitalist production is quite
depressing.  Even the famous magnificent and detailed folk
arts of the Tatra Mountain people of  Poland are no where to
be seen in Warsaw's department stores.  Everyone there is
computer-crazy.  It's wonderful to know that  people of such
countries are beginning to count on the value of their native
arts.  Maybe this trend can actually save their economy.  At
least on the day-to-day modest scale of providing food!
