Abecedarium, an exhibition of the Guild of Book Workers



September 6, ABECEDARIUM opened at the Vida Ellison gallery of the Denver
Public Library. It will remain there until October 17. An opening reception
sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Guild of Book Workers  will
be held September 19, from 2-4. For more information, contact Laura Wait at
303-480-0172. The next, and final, venue will be Denison Library; Scripps
College; Claremont, California.

For those of you who have forgotten, ABECEDARIUM features the collaborative
work of members of the Guild of Book Workers, with binders and
calligraphers, binders and printers, binders and illustrators, as well a
numerous other combinations. With 40 participants from 17 states and
Canada, this exhibition features 38 books and one wall mounted piece.
Featured are excellent representations of contemporary work in binding,
letterpress printing, calligraphy, illustration and artists’ books.
