SALTWINDS YANKEE BARN WORKSHOPS 2000
Dear Friends, here is the upcoming schedule for 2 to 5 day workshops in the

What's new in creatively transfering slides through the gel medium of

DRAGON'S BLOOD AND ASHES, TECHNIQUES OF A MEDIEVAL BOOK ARTIST presented
by visual language expert PAUL WERNER of NYC who has authored, lectured and
taught througout the United States. You will learn the hands on methods of
quills, preparing manuscripts, illumination, gesso panels, inks and dyes,

JULY 10-13 THE BOOK AS SCULPTURE: CHANGING YOUR CONCEPT OF WHAT A BOOK CAN BE !
Starting with a slide presentation, MICHAEL JACOBS will present a truly
exciting workshop which moves quickly into the design and unique
fabrication of your own free standing sculptural mixed media book
structures - which may have drawers, be vessel-like, have wire line
drawings, triangular sides - are they books or sculptures? Or, in fact,
BOTH? Michael is an exceptional internationally known teacher, a top notch
award-winning book artist, an eclectic, artistic 3-D visualist from
Seattle, WA ....don't miss the chance to come under his spell.
