Dear Book Artists

I'm putting together an introductory workshop/lecture for high school =
students of printmaking and would be interested in learning the =
improvisatory techniques that you may use to make images that will =
edition on an intaglio basis. Because I'm part of an academy that =
doesn't fit into any curricula, I'm hoping to be able to free students' =
inhibitions and creativities beyond the classical printmaking techniques =
that they're taught. I believe that the tradition should be so much =
wider that tightly impressing images onto finely sheened copper or zinc. =
So, I'm working with a range of different experiments, from using =
'found' images in the form of chine colle, a wide range of drypoint =
techniques including mezzotint, as well as casting questions on the =
plate itself -- using x-ray plates, disused acetate lithopositives, =
sheets of cardboard etc. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Robyn
