It is a "book" entitled "The Enemies of Books" said enemies include
"collectors" one of whom pillaged rare book collections in libraries by
removing title pages from said books. Not to oddly it also mentions
"Bookbinders".

AN interesting read.

Many rare book dealers steadfastly refuse to sell leaves they know to be
removed from a whole or complete book. But then how do you tell? Myself I
have refused to sell an early folio on alpine wild flowers because I knew
the woman who wanted to buy it was going to remove the plates and use them
for wallpaper of alll things. The book was instead donated to the
Smithsonian.
