Edge Gilding

Gilding the edge of a book is not only a sumptuous way to finish pages, but
also serves to protect books from the harmful effects of dust and other
pollutants.
For anyone looking to learn the traditional methods of edge gilding and
learn more about using gold and gilders' tools, the Center for Book Arts
will be holding a 6-hour edge gilding workshop on Sunday March 26th from
10am to 4pm. Tuition is $115 or $90 for members.
Please bring an already prepared book block to class to gild--the pages must
be cut cleanly and not torn or deckled.
