Artist Residencies-New Media (Visual Studies Workshop, Rochester, NY)



Call for Proposals
Artist-in-Residence in New Media

Visual Studies Workshop will host artists residencies in Digital Media
in the Fall, 2000.

To apply: Send a project proposal with appropriate visual documentation:
slides, videotape, CD-Rom (Mac compatible). Please include a resume and
a SASE for return of materials.

Residencies are project-based and may include work in digital
multimedia, digital video, artists' books that are designed and/or
printed digitally, digital print work or other projects that investigate
digital culture to refine our notions about images, imagemaking,
presentation and interpretation. Residencies are for up to one month
from September through November, 2000.  Residents will receive a
stipend, access to facilities and housing on the premises. Some
technical support is available but residents should be accomplished in
their use of chosen technology.

Facilities include Macintosh computer labs equipped with G3s with
firewire, digital video capabilities, digital camcorders, decks to
capture and output video, transfer between analog and digital
formats;also scanners, printers, imagesetter.  Other facilities include
analog video editing suites, photographic darkrooms and offset printing
and pre-press capability.
