MCBA Exhibition Opening

Following is information regarding the latest exhibition at MCBA.

Minnesota Center for Book Arts presents its first exhibition in its new
space in Open Book, Minneapolis
Chapter Four:  Fifteen Years Faculty and Friends
Exhibition Dates:  May 6 - July 29
Opening Reception:  Saturday, May 6, 6 - 9 pm

Each chapter in a well-written book entices and invites the reader to a
voyage of discovery; each sentence, each phrase, each word  contributes to =
a
magical, coalescent whole.  Minnesota Center for Book Arts=B9 (MCBA) newest
chapter hales the local book arts community, recognizing the great
significance of constituent artists in an exhibition featuring work by
faculty, artists-in-residence, artist cooperative members and avid Center
habitu=E9s past and present.  =B3Chapter Four:  Fifteen Years of Faculty and
Friends=B2 will present an exciting and diverse array of pieces by the artist=
s
whose abilities and acumen have abetted and continue to contribute to the
vitality of MCBA.  Participants range from charter member, long-ago
letterpress lecturer, printer and polymer-plate pundit Gerald Lange=ADwhose
singular skills under the Bieler Press imprint have been acclaimed since
1975=ADto Jay Kyle, upcoming Printing Artist-in-Residence and proprietor of
the recently established Boxcar Press.

Over fifty artists will take part in the exhibit, offering an exploration o=
f
the considerable diversity encompassed by the term =B3book arts=B2 as well as
aptly illuminating MCBA=B9s   artistic heritage.  =B3The resultant display of
creative vision, an open book suffused with brilliant imagination and
skillful execution, surely portends compelling chapters ahead,=B2 notes Mary
