suitable paper?

Dear List:

I have been using nicely coloured ingres paper to cover hardbacks (though
using book cloth on the spines). It looks good, but is not that sensible a
choice.

Can anyone suggest a brand or type of paper that would be harder-wearing
and more scuff resistant? Japanese paper is a bit more expensive than what
I would like to pay.

Thanks.
