AlphaMark: Calligraphy Exhibition



Broward County Library's (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida)

BIENES CENTER FOR THE LITERARY ARTS

is pleased to announce:

ALPHAMARK: AN INTERNATIONAL JURIED CALLIGRAPHY EXHIBITION
March 19-April 30, 2001

The exhibit showcases 72 pieces of fine art that incorporate written letter=
 forms - words, letter strokes, characters - to bring a verbal message to a=
 visual world. The pieces include book forms, ceramics and broadsides, and =
present a variety of visual interpretations of the calligrapher's mark, whi=
ch becomes letter, alphabet, word and text.

The exhibit was created by the Association for the Calligraphic Arts, whose=
 mission is to promote awareness and appreciation for the calligraphic and =
lettering arts through education and exhcange of information and ideas.

The AlphaMark exhibition s underwritten by the Bienes Center for the Litera=
ry Arts, the South Florida Calligraphy Guild, Levenger's - Tools for Seriou=
s Readers and Writers, and individual members of the South Florida Calligra=
phy Guild.
