Re: Onion Paper



i tried making paper from just onion & garlic skins...i soked the skins for
a few hours, then a  5% soda ash cook for 2 hours.washed & hand
beaten.pressed and resist dried. the paper was a bit brittle, but beautiful,
and i think it's worth experimanting with different cook times & maybe
lightly beaten in a hollander instead. i also  mixed it with cotton linter %
banana (abaca-family) pulp.both resulted in interesting paper..less brittle.
