Temporary Book Repair position-Rhode Island

I have a temporary position open at the Rockefeller Library, Brown
University, Providence, RI.  I am looking for an experienced book repair
technician to work on circulating library collections.  The position is
currently open immediately through 2/28/02 and may last a little
longer.  It is a full time union position with benefits.  If you have any

Position:       Library Technical Assistant II/Bindery
Department:     University Library

Wages:  $24,542.40-$25,703.04

Specifications: Performs routine to advanced level binding and conservation
treatments on library materials from the general collections following
accepted conservation standards; evaluates materials in need of repair,
assists Bindery Manager with department projects as assigned; assists in
movement of workflow through the unit.  Assists, occasionally, in general
monograph processing and returning commercial bindery
shipments.  Requirements: high school graduate with 2 years post secondary
education or equivalent; experience in hand bookbinding and collections
conservation or in equivalent field; ability to organize workflow, set
priorities and work independently in a changing environment; ability to
train, assign work and revise the work of others, work without close
supervision.  Ability to work cooperatively and promote service objective
of department.
