Letter Arts Review
REVIEW 2002
CALL FOR ENTRIES
DEADLINE:  POSTMARK MARCH 1

To celebrate and showcase the best calligraphy worldwide, and to recognize=20
creative excellence and quality of execution in the letter arts, you are=20
invited to participate in Letter Arts Review's fifteenth annual internationa=
l=20
competition. This year for the first time, gift certificates to John Neal=20
Bookseller Catalogue will be awarded to First ($250), Second ($200) and Thir=
d=20
Place ($150) winners.=20

This is a call for traditional and nontraditional lettering, calligraphy,=20
type design, graphic design, book art and fine art which employs letterforms=
=20
or calligraphic marks as a major element. Works created since January 1, 200=
0=20
are eligible (except those previously published in Letter Arts Review). All=20
works chosen by the jurors will be published in Letter Arts Review 2002.=20

Jurors:
Philip B. Meggs professor of Communication Arts and Design at VCU and author=
=20
of A History of Graphic Design. Susan Goldman, a past Special Projects=20
Coordinator and Master Printer at the Pyramid Atlantic and is a faculty=20
member at The Corcoran College of Art and Design and at Maryland Institute o=
f=20
Art. Rose Folsom is author of The Calligraphers' Dictionary and a recipient=20
of a Hermann Zapf Education Grant. Her work appears in the rare book=20
collections of Harvard, Yale and Swarthmore Universities, The Vatican Librar=
y=20
and many private collections. She became editor of Letter Arts Review in=20
August 2001.

Entry Fees:
Single Submission: $15
Quantity Discount: $10 EACH. Four or more entries produced and submitted in=20
one package, by a single individual.

Payment of Fees
USA / UK / Canadian Entries must be accompanied by=20
payment by Check or Money order.
USA Entries $15.00 / $10.00 US Dollars
Canadian Entries: $22.50 / $15.00 Canadian Dollars=20
UK Entries: =A310 / =A36.75=20

Payment for other foreign countries: $15 / $10 US Dollars
Check in US dollars on a US Bank or by MasterCard or Visa. Checks in German=20

Submission of entries to Review 2002 acknowledges the right of Letter Arts=20
Review to use them for exhibition and publication purposes.=20

Each winning entrant will receive a complimentary copy of Review 2002.

outstanding reproductions. Each issue seeks to inform, inspire and invigorat=

- whether the work you seek is contemporary, historical, experimental or=20
traditional, commercial or fine-arts oriented, legible or non-legible, verba=

or non-verbal. Edited by Rose Folsom, it is published now by John Neal,=20
Bookseller.
