Lawrence Wallis's career in printing began as an apprentice compositor in
March 1949. He went on to teach typesetting and typography at the Central
School of Arts & Crafts in London, and work for The Monotype Corporation and
Crosfield Electronics. He has written 8 books on typesetting and printing as
well as contributed over 600 articles to the trade press.
