Perhaps you have an older browser that doesn't strip the parentheses, or an
e-mail program that broke it up and couldn't reassemble it as a clickable link.
Also, if you failed in IE, try Netscape (or vice-versa). I stripped off the
parentheses that were adjacent to the url (above). That may help you. Even with
the parentheses, Netscape 4.6 had no trouble opening it.

When sending a url in an email it helps some browsers if the url is on a
separate line with no adjacent punctuation, where it won't get broken up by some
e-mail programs that can't reassemble it as a clickable link.
