The Guild of Book Workers' traveling exhibition of members' work, The Best
of the Best, will be on display at Swarthmore College's McCabe Library from
January 10 through February 20th.

The Guild, founded in 1906, is a national organization of printers,
bookbinders, calligraphers, papermakers, and other workers in the book
arts. This juried exhibition features the work of 33 participants from 18
states. Come see this stunning array of works ranging from traditional
bindings to artists' books in a variety of media and structures.

Wednesday, January 30, 4:30 pm:  Opening Reception and Exhibition Tour with
Mary Phelan, Swarthmore Visiting Professor of Art and professor in the
Master of Fine Arts Program in Book Arts and Printmaking at the University
of the Arts in Philadelphia.

Library Hours: Jan. 14-18, M-F 8:30-4:30; Jan. 19 closed; Jan. 20-Feb. 20,
M-F 8:30-10:00, Sat 10-6, Sun noon-10.

catalogue, in postcard format and housed in a hinged plexiglass case, will
be available for purchase for $20.00 in the Mortimer Rare Book Room during
November and December. The catalog can also be ordered online.
