Hello--

I have a paperback bound collection of vocal scores that has fallen
apart. As it stands, it is completely unusable, patrons have checked it
out and spread it apart in order to play from it, and the spine has just
disintegrated. The only repair option I have is to do a very basic
case-binding (what we do for in-house bound periodicals), that involves
drilling holes near the spine and sewing the pieces together before gluing
into binder board. If I do this repair, it will become unusable for the
patrons wishing to play from it. A librarian has suggested a spiral
binding, but that is not acceptable in this library. We could have it
professionally bound, but I'm afraid their treatment would also be hard to
play from. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to repair this type of
item so it remains usable? My repair skills are rudimentary at best, so it
does need to be fairly simple.

Thank you for all your advice!!!
