CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

projet MOBILIVRE-BOOKMOBILE project
DEADLINE: APRIL 1st, 2002.

Dear Friends,

You are invited to submit your independently-produced zines, artist books
and other publications for the 2002 North American tour of projet
MOBILIVRE-BOOKMOBILE project. Submitted works will be juried by a group of
artists, activists and writers and chosen for creative manipulation of form
and content, level of political engagement and structural integrity. As of
July 2002, selected works will hit the road in a converted vintage Airstream
trailer and visit community centres, schools, festivals artist run centres,
libraries and prisons all over North America (and especially where
independent publications are
hard to come by). This mobile library will be accompanied by a group of
coordinators who facilitate a series of workshops, artist's talks and
educational
forums.

THE PROJECT:

The projet MOBILIVRE-BOOKMOBILE project is a grassroots media initiative
which runs on the sweat and toil of a dedicated group of volunteer artists
and activists based primarily in Montreal, Canada and Philadelphia, USA. The
BOOKMOBILE collective supports the growth of independent-locally produced
media while it strives to help these voices form a larger continental
network. Making its debut the summer of 2001, the BOOKMOBILE covered parts
of Eastern Canada as well as the North Eastern and Midwestern United States
exposing over 1000 visitors to its unique collection. In 2002, the
BOOKMOBILE's itinerary will extend to include West Coast destinations.
