Dear Lynn

Galen Berry is one of the experts using acrylic paints in his
marbling.....Please refer to his website to find answers to most of your
questions.

http://members.aol.com/marbling/marbling

He has his own line of acrylic paints, and he has a good red..... He
suggests using your darker colors first, ie. black, and then add the other
colors. The black will look gray when you first put it down, but as you add
more colors, it will condense back to darker black as you intended.

You would not want to have a lot of paint on your wisks when you start to
apply paint to the carrageenan. The more you have on your wisk will just
sink to the bottom of your tray. With your wisk, stir the paint in the jar,
then before taking out, knock the wisk from side to side of the jar, and when
you pull out the wisk there isn't paint dropping from the wisk. Then giving
the wisk some taps with your fingers, enough paint will flick off onto the
carrageenan to make small drops that will then spread, and apply those drops
evenly across your carrageenan.

The carrageenan works best at room temperature, but it will start to break
down if left out too long, just put it in the refrigerator to keep.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to email me, or Galen
Berry at MarbleArt Marbling@aol.com

He is going to be on the road soon to come west to teach his popular "Paper
and Fabric Marbling".

Thanks
