REPUTEDLY ILLITERATE: THE ART BOOKS OF JAMES CASTLE
will be the launch exhibition 15 May-15 June 2002 in new artists book
display facilities at the Library, Faculty of Art, Media and Design,
University of the West of England, Kennel Lodge Road, Bristol, England.

Supported by the Centre for Fine Print Research at the University of
the West of England, the exhibition of work by self-taught Idaho
artist-bookmaker Castle is curated by Tom Trusky, Director of the
Idaho Center for the Book at Boise State University.

Opening ceremonies will include

PROVENANCE IN THE WILD WEST: JAMES CASTLE AND THE ICEHOUSE BOOKS

a lecture and video presentation by Professor Trusky on Weds 15th May
at 4.30 pm. All welcome, for further details please contact
