Use in small batches--a little goes a long way. Don't burn it by leaving it
to heat all day. Clean your gluepot after use rather than let unused glue
sit in it exposed to the air. The leftovers are never as good as a freshly
made batch. Finally, a thin coat of glue on the spine is your goal, and it
can be tricky to do because the glue congeals almost immediately as soon as
the temperature lowers. A good glue consistency is indicated by a thin
stream running off your brush.
