We invite you to Florida Atlantic University for a lecture by bookbinder
Paula Marie Gourley:

The Wimberly Library's Book Arts Lecture Series kicks off with an afternoon
lecture by bookbinder Paula Marie Gourley on Friday, May 24. Ms. Gourley
studied traditional hand bookbinding in France and Belgium and brought her
expertise to the MFA in the Book Arts Program at the University of Alabama,
where she developed the bookbinding curriculum and taught the craft of
bookbinding for several years. She comes to FAU from her studio in Eugene,
Oregon, for a lecture entitled "Cracking Eggs and Other Ways of Making Books."

The lecture is sponsored by the Wimberly's Arthur and Mata Jaffe Book Arts
Collection, and will be held at the Board of Trustees Room at FAU's
Williams Administration Building at 3:00 pm. Florida Atlantic University is
located at 777 Glades Road in Boca Raton, Florida.

For directions or additional information, contact John Cutrone, Library
Special Collections, at <jcutrone@fau.edu>, or call the Jaffe Collection at
(561) 297-0226. The Jaffe Collection is FAU's Book Arts collection,
featuring nearly 4000 volumes of unique and limited edition books and
reference materials on the Book Arts. The collection may be viewed by
