[BKARTS] E-Commerce for Arts & Crafts

Dear Member,

"E-Commerce for Arts & Crafts" is a new Development Focus page of the
Development Gateway, a giant Internet portal aimed at bridging the digital
divide in developing countries. The new Focus page is an online resource for
grassroots crafts producers who want to link to world markets through
electronic commerce as well as for importers and e-business entrepreneurs
seeking new artisanal products and new global markets.

Updated daily, this Development Focus page has highlighted promising
e-commerce crafts markets within the tourist industry, the potential for
marketing to ethnic diasporas, new tools for creating online product
catalogs, and successful e-commerce for crafts case studies in Africa, the
Philippines, and Latin America. Other areas addressed include intellectual
property protections for music and other creative content on the Internet
from the developing world, micro-financing, IT training tools for the
informal labor sector, and marketplace resources.

Membership in "E-Commerce for Arts & Crafts" is free by registering at
www.developmentgateway.org/e-arts. The website is interactive and
participants are encouraged to contribute to the growing body of information
about this dynamic new market link to the developing world.

Sincerely,
Ramin Aliyev
