[BKARTS] NW Bookfest Book Arts Exhibition opening October 30



Thursday, October 30, at 7 p.m., is the opening of the Portland, Oregon,
showing of the NW Bookfest Book Arts exhibition.

The Collins Gallery inside Multnomah County's Central Library (801 S.W.
10th Ave.) will have on exhibit "Book Arts: Jury Selections From Northwest
Bookfest" from October 29-November 17. Admission is free, and the public
is invited to attend the exhibit, as well as a reception on Wednesday,
October 30, at 7:00 p.m. The Central Library show is the same show that
initially was on display as the Book Arts Exhibition at Northwest
Bookfest (www.nwbookfest.org), which occurred October 19 & 20 at Sand
Point Magnuson Park in Seattle, WA.

Northwest Bookfest's Book Arts Exhibition is the largest annual exhibition
of artists' books and fine presswork in the Pacific Northwest. A jury of
artists and curators from Seattle and Portland has selected more than 50
pieces for the show, which contains the work of contemporary bookmakers
from the Western United States, including traditional fine press books and
artists' books in a wide range of media and structure.

Prize winners include Barbara Tetenbaum & Julie Chen ODE TO A GRAND
STAIRCASE; Leslie Topness ONE AND 26. (FIGURES.NOTES.MEASUREMENTS.); Beata
Wehr TAMING METAL OBJECTS; Sandy Tilcock OREGON PILGRIMAGE IN GREEN; Dan
Mayer THREE NEARLY NEW POEMS; and Coriander Reisbord CONUMDRUMS.

The Collins Gallery is located on the third floor of Central Library.
Gallery and library hours are Tuesday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.; Friday and
Saturday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Sunday, 1-5 p.m. For more information, call
