Re: [BKARTS] Books left in the cold-covers or pages warping?

Ben,

Oddly enough they were packed in such a way that they should have no problem.
However, they were what you might call contorted The spines of some had
become wavy rather than round. These were more modern books with thick
sections and little backing. Some were warped. This I concluded was from
wrong way grain. Cold can affect warping in paper and that was really
pronounced in those books with the grain perpendicular to the spine.
Some pages were wavy as though they had been wet, but they had not been.
There were a few that the adhesive holding the cover material to the board
had lost its bond.

Delaware has strange winters with temperatures ranging from nasty cold to
very mild with no telling what to expect next. Humidity is a constant
problem.
