Re: [BKARTS] *Slightly* tangential question



  If you are interested in something off the beaten track, how about
Pangur Ban?  It is a ninth century poem in Middle Irish originally, but
translated many times into English.  It is written in the first person by a
scholar comparing his own intellectual pursuits to his cat's mouse
hunting.  Two versions of it are available on-line:

My own favorite English version is one by Robin Flower which is not as
literally accurate as some others, but puts it into a more traditional kind
of English rhyme.    You might find it more of an artistic and intellectual
challenge yourself to do a pop-up version of it, as an alternative to the
more ordinary kid cute sort of thing.
