[BKARTS] Teaching Positon at Iowa

School of Art and Art History
and the
University of Iowa Center for the Book
jointly seek a
Lecturer in Graphic Design and Book Arts
for Academic Year 2003-4
Starts August, 2003

The position is on a non-tenure-track annual basis, renewable for a
total of 3 years.

Basic Qualifications: MFA or equivalent in Graphic Design and Book
Arts. Three years teaching experience at college or university level.
Knowledge and experience in traditional as well as digital
technologies in graphic design, production, print and traditional and
innovative bookbinding. Professional and practical experience. Record
of published design work. Desirable Qualifications: experience as a
practicing book artist.

3/2 Course load, teaching undergraduates and graduates in BA, BFA,
UICB (University of Iowa Center for the Book) Certificate, MA and MFA
in Graphic  Design and UI Center for the Book programs. Supervise
bookbinding facilities, UICB curriculum and  independent studies.

Salary: will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and
experience. Search committee will begin screening immediately, but
search will remain open until the position is filled. Send letter of

twenty slides of personal work and 10 slides of students' work; the
