I wanted to get this on the list as soon as I can. Even though the
website is listed here I just checked and the prospectus is NOT on
the site yet. I hope to get it up asap but in the meantime all the
info EXCEPT for the entry form that you need to fill out, is
reprinted here. You may also send a SASE a to me at the address
listed below and I will send out a form.
Master Media - Artist's Books
Artist Books included in this exhibit should be able to
be displayed without being handled. One of the major problems with
showing books in an exhibition is that too often the books are shown
under glass, closed up so that just the cover is exposed or one page
of a book is
displayed. Think about how your book is to be displayed. One of the
most accessible book forms is the accordion fold but there are many
other forms that can be displayed so that a book can be seen in its
entirety when displayed in a case or on a pedestal. This Exhibit will
exploit that idea.
Artwork must be original and completed within the last 4 years.
Slides for An Open Book
All slides must be postmarked by January 8, 2004. Submit 35mm in
standard mount, not glass. Include name, title, size, top of slide
(in upper right corner) and date. One to three entries will cost
$25.00. You may include up to 2 detail slides of the same work.
Additional entries may be sent in for $ 5.00 per entry. The slide
should illustrate the theme of the show- "AN OPEN BOOK". You must
include an SASE for notification and return of slides.
Artists must be 18 years or older. Students in a college degree
program are also eligible.
