[BKARTS] Scotland - Edinburgh

While in Edinburgh-

You can climb Arthur's Seat (a small ancient dormant volcano) and
survey the town or walk up the Royal Mile to the castle at midday
(1pm?) for the pipes and canon firing. There's a camera obscura set up
at one point along the upper Royal Mile to have a peek around you too.
Every now and then along the Mile, duck into a one of the man arched
stone corridors- they're fantastic little short cuts and portals into
miniature residential areas with great views from balcony edges
overlooking otherwise unseen vantage points of the city.

The Edinburgh School of Art has a nice campus art supply shop if you
find yourself in need of materials while in town.

I believe the Museum of Art in Edinburgh has Turner watercolours out
only in the winter months, so if that's your fancy check it out.

If you get thirsty there's no shortage of pubs and such to pop into.

I definitely recommend taking a load off at 'Elephant House Cafe.'

Cheers!

Christopher

Elephant House -
This spacious cafe is popular with professionals and students alike,
and offers fine views of Edinburgh Castle and Greyfriars Kirk from its
back room. There is wide range of coffees, teas, pastries and light
meals to choose from whilst you bask in the restful ambience. Ask for
one of the available boardgames and set it out on one of the large
tables in front of the Georgian fireplace. Health conscious visitors
will appreciate the non-smoking section of the cafe, whilst Feng Shui
fans will love its balanced design.
