I only ran across bonded leather once, when I was using scraps from a local
binder to make plaquettes for a workshop.  Wouldn't touch the stuff after
that.

When I use bonded leather, I never sand or do anything else to the turned
edge and still I have no problem with bonding.  What adhesive are you using;
you
folks who are having problems?  Are you not pressing you books when
casing-in?
