Re: [BKARTS] Tear in sheepskin (was cheap, cheaper, poor)



Olivia asked how to repair a tear in sheepskin.

We effect such repairs from behind, using either ladies' glove leather, or,
gold-beater's skin.  Glove leather is usually more readily available, so from
this point of view is preferable.  Good glove leather is very thin and fine, but
strong.

You may have to work it a little, cutting it to shape and paring it at the
edges.  A mix of paste and PVA or EVA is suggested, but only sparingly.
