More edible books! A friend asked me to post this to the book arts list:

Friends of the Eastern Maine Community College Library
BOOKS2EAT returns for its third year in Bangor with a new emphasis on Maine
food products. The Friends of the Eastern Maine Community College Library will
be hosting BOOKS2EAT2004, an international Edible Book Festival and
Friend-raiser, at Rangeley Hall on Sylvan Rd. from 3:30 to 5:30 pm on Wednesday, April
14, 2004.  Anyone can contribute an edible book for display at the event, which
also features high silver tea with refreshments ably concocted by EMCC
Culinary Arts students.
Those who submit an edible book will receive free admission.  All others pay
a $7 entry fee at the door, which includes refreshments and five tickets to
vote on the winning edible book. Books may be made of any ingredients that are
edible and must represent a book (a real book or one of your own imagination),
by either replicating an existing book and its cover art or by creating your
own. In addition to the first prize, a new award will be presented this year
for the best use of Maine food products in an edible book entry.
High tea will be served featuring Maine food products such as smoked salmon,
blueberries, cheese, apples, etc. Voting on the edible book entries will take
place from 3:30 - 4:30 pm. after which the entries will be utterly consumed!
The organizers would particularly like to extend an invitation to participate
to all students enrolled in culinary arts programs, as well as chefs,
caterers, and creative book lovers and artists.
